Nautical Nail Art Tutorial

Nail art doesn’t have to be complicated to look good and today I’m sharing how to get a fun summer look in just a few simple steps.

Here’s the finished look..

Step 1: Paint on your chosen base colours. I’ve used Barry M’s Blueberry and Max Factor’s Snow White.

Step 2: Add detail. I used Max Factor’s Snow White and a dotting tool for the polka dots and Barry M’s white nail art pen to draw a straight line to start my anchor.

Step 3: To finish the anchor draw a small circle on the top of the line. Then add a slightly curved line either side of the bottom. Draw small triangles onto each of the curved lines.

Step 4: To make the stripes carefully place striping tape on the nail.

Step 5: Paint over with the tape with your chosen polish. After about 10 seconds gently peel off the tape.

Step 6: Clean up around the nail and patch up any areas. I got a little blue polish on the stripes so I used the nail art pen to cover it up.

Step 7: To finish the design add topcoat and a little stud/rhinestone. To go with my nautical look I added a little silver star.

What do you think to this nail art? Is it a look you would wear?
