Born Pretty Store: Autumn Stamping Plate

Today I have another stamping plate from Born Pretty Store to share with you! This one is full of incredible designs!

autumn plate 1

I just love this! Every image is really detailed and coming up with nail designs to show off this plate was so fun!

This look was the first design I tried and I am definitely impressed with how well it turned out! I used a white base colour then sponged on pastel shades to create a little more depth behind the print. I know this would look great in lots of other colours too!

My next look is super easy but I really like the simplicity of the little dragonflies!

Little Owls ♥

Today I’m sharing a cute owl nail design. :)

Owls 1

I chose to use our teal purple.

I’m actually quite proud of these. I think they look adorable! And they were quite easy to do! I used the side of the polish brush for the wings and a hair grip for everything else. It’s all made up of dots! I love how well the feather detail turned out. All I did was make a dot in the lighter colour then added a dot of the base colour over the top to get the half moon shape. So easy!

Owls 2

What do you think of my owl nails?

Polishes used: Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Watermelon, Plum and Prickly Pear. Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Lemon Sugar and Avon SpeedDry+  in Don’t Be Jaded.

BeTrousse Pretty Beauty Box!

Before Christmas I won Bewitchery’s amazing BeTrousse Pretty Beauty Box giveaway and today it finally arrived! I was so excited to get everything out and so far I am very pleased with the contents. :)

BeTrousse 1

Today I’m going to share just a few of my thoughts on what I received but Naomi over at Bewitchery wrote a great post about this box so if you’d like to read a bit more about the products you can check that out Here. :)

BeTrousse 2

As soon as I opened the box I wanted to try out the Yves Rocher lipgloss. I have a wonderful collection of lipsticks and glosses already and this is a great addition! It’s a really nice shade, an orange pink with lots of shine! I think the formula of this is particularly great. I usually stick to lipsticks to avoid that heavy sticky feeling you get with a lot of glosses but this wasn’t at all like that. This is a very wearable product and will definitely be getting a lot of use in the summer!

BeTrousse 3

The Vera Valenti eyeshadow I received is the grey version. This isn’t a product I would really use. I don’t wear eyeshadow much anyway but this isn’t something I would ever go out and buy simply because it looks cheap and very much like the make-up I used to use as a child. Not appealing at all! I gave it a go anyway but Naomi is right, this is very bad quality!

Here I am wearing the Yves Rocher lipgloss and Vera Valenti eyeshadow..

BeTrousse 4

Of course I couldn’t write this post without including a few photos of the nail polish! I personally still love crackle polishes so I am very happy with this. I have a few other crackles by Saffron London and for such a low price they are a good quality brand. Here I am wearing the black crackle over Avon’s SpeedDry+ in Art Orange..

Now, possibly the cutest packaging I’ve ever seen is that of the Cupcake Organic Blue Tansy & Lavender Balancing Day Cream. The coloured glass pot is just so vibrant and eye-catching! The cream is wonderful too and ‘smooths and nourishes’ just like it says. Just look how pretty it is..

I’d just like to say a massive thank you to Naomi for running such a great giveaway!

And thank you all for reading! :)

The Lion King ♥

Just a quick post for you today. The Lion King themed nails! :) I’m a huge Disney fan (you’re never too old for a Disney film!) and this is one of my absolute favourites so I wanted to try out a nail art based on it. And I have to say I think this is one of my best!

It was hard deciding what would be on each nail, some of the characters looked rather complicated but Rafiki is amazing so he had to be included. :)

I actually love how the horizon nails turned out, they’re quite cool. They would look good an every nail! I used mostly Barry M nail paints for this and a black nail art pen. The rest of the detail was done using a hairgrip. :)

I’d love to know what you think of my latest nail art. What’s your favourite Disney movie? Feel free to leave comments below. :)

Paw Print

I have a quick nail art for you now, so not much to say about it really! :)

A pretty simple design, but paw prints are super cute! Just make one big dot and add little ones above it. :) I used my nail pens for these but you can use a hair grip or the ball end of a pin to get the same effect. I did 3 sets using Avon Nailwear Pro in Aqua Fantasy and lilac and Barry M Cobalt Blue. I think the mint with light gold paw prints are my favourite though. :)

Leopard Print!

I used to think leopard print was a bit tacky but just recently I’ve been really into all types of animal print. I even have giraffe print sunglasses!

So, looking at a few pictures of leopard print I wondered exactly how hard it could be to create this look in a nail art. It turned out to be one of the easiest looks ever! (: And, like always I have only used a hair grip. I may one day invest in some nail art pens! Ha! (:

I chose mint green just because it looks good with my hair. Vain, I know, but I love the colour. Okay, so once the base coat was dry I made splodges using the hair grip in a goldy colour. And then just went around the edges with black, leaving little gaps here and there. You really need a top coat with this as it looks a bit bumpy without.

Very simple, but oh so cute!
