Getting Festive With Make Up Gallery

Glitter polish is one of my favourite ways to get a festive look without the time and effort of nail art! I love that you can wear as little or as much glitter as you like and layering over different base colours can completely change it’s style!

Today I’m sharing a perfectly Christmas-y glitter top coat from Make Up Gallery along with two amazing colours to wear it with.

First up is Silver Storm. This frosted silver is so cute for winter!

And here is how it looks with Rainbow Sparkle on top!

I just love everything about this. The way it catches the light is wonderful.

Next is a more festive red. This is called Blood Red.

I don’t know about you, but this definitely screams Christmas to me! And I LOVE it!

Rainbow Sparkle is an incredible way to add festive cheer to your mani. The mix of colours and shapes means your nails will shine like the best decorated tree! And it’s such a bargain at just £1!

It’s Christmas Time!

I know it’s not even December yet but I wanted to share a beautiful Christmas stamping plate from Born Pretty Store. It usually takes around 3 weeks for my orders to arrive (to the UK) so if you order this soon there is a very good chance it will be here ready to use before Christmas!

xmas plate 1

Christmas is my favourite time of year so it’s no surprise that I absolutely LOVE this plate!

This first design is more of a winter look than Christmas so this should please everyone that thinks it’s too early to be wearing Santa on your nails! I think this snowflake print is fantastic. I opted for classic blue and white polishes with a little glitter.

Here’s a simple look in red and gold..

And this last design is in black and white with a matte finish to really show off the images!

Want gorgeous festive nail art for yourself? You can find this plate here: Christmas Stamping Plate!

I will be sharing more nail art using this plate in the next couple of weeks! I just wanted to post a little something now so that you could hopefully get this plate for yourselves before Christmas!

Born Pretty Store has everything you could need for gorgeous nail art. And you can use my discount code RARW10 for 10% off your Born Pretty Store order!

Merry Christmas!

This year I had some cute Christmas nail designs I wanted to share with you but unfortunately because of broken nails and the flash on my camera now not working I haven’t been able to.

This will be my last Christmas nail art post this year but you can always check out my Christmas category if you are looking for more inspiration!

This Christmas tree sticker is from Poundland and is just so sweet! I used Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Golden Vision for the base which I think is perfectly festive.

And here’s a simple Santa look I did using stickers from Poundland that I had left over from last year. I used Max Factor’s Snow White polish and GOSH stardust to make the sparkly base.

I hope to post more regularly after Christmas but until then you can follow me on instagram for more nail photos.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town..

I can’t believe there’s only 8 days left until Christmas! I still have a lot of shopping to do which isn’t really surprising as I always leave it till the last minute. Every year I say I’ll start buying presents sooner but I never do!

Anyway, for my festive nail art today I have used Santa Claus as my theme and painted something different on each nail. As much as I love simple accent nails I think Santa needed something a little bit special. So each nail is a different thing related to good old Kris Kringle.

Here’s what I came up with..

Polishes used: Disney Villains’ Cruella De Vil, Sally Hanson White Tip, Avon ColorTrend Natural Girl,
Barry M Black Multi Glitter, Barry M Gold.

I’d love to know your thoughts on this Christmas nail art! :) Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Tree Nail Art

Christmas tree nail art is one of the most popular designs so I thought I would share a super quick and easy version.

All you need is your chosen polishes and some striping tape. No fancy tools or experience needed for this!

Start by cutting off four pieces of tape. It’s best to do this before you start painting your nails so you don’t smudge them. Apply your chosen base shade. I’ve gone for Revlon’s Chroma Chameleon in Gold. Once dry, place two pieces of tape onto your nail so that they meet at the top in a triangular shape. Then put the other two on diagonally through the centre of the first triangle. Like this..

Now paint on the polish you’ve picked for your tree. Be careful not to go outside the tape! I’ve used Revlon’s Top Speed in Emerald. Slowly peel off the tape to reveal your pretty tree! When the polish is dry you can start to add decorations! I’ve kept my tree more traditional with gold and red baubles which I added with the end of a cocktail stick. The polishes used were Barry M’s Copper and Cruella De Vil from Disney Villains Collection.

To complete your festive nail art just add a topcoat. Seeing as I’m still loving matte nails right now I’ve used Rimmel’s Matte Topcoat.

I love the simplicity of this design! And you can mix it up and use any colours you like. I think I might do a more contemporary version of this Christmas tree nail art very soon! I’m thinking maybe blue and silver, how about you?

I always love hearing what you guys think so don’t be shy in leaving comments! :)

Deck The Halls

The Christmas decorations went up in my house last night so what better way to start my festive nail art than a themed set! As we’re not having a Christmas tree this year (with 2 dogs and a cat I know it wouldn’t stay up very long!) I have had to keep it on my nails. I will also be sharing some step-by-step photos so you can see how I created my design.

This is my ‘Deck The Halls’ nail art!

Deck The Halls 1

I started by painting 2 coats of each of the base colours. The red is Avon’s Nailwear Pro+ in Red Bombshell and the green is MUA’s Shade 13. I think these are the most perfect colours for Christmas! They are both wonderfully vibrant and work really well together.

Deck The Halls 2

For the fairy lights I painted a thin line in black and then added triangular shapes along in various colours using Rio nail art pens.

Deck The Halls 3

I wanted to try 2 bauble designs, one in each colour. The green is MUA Shade 13 again and the deep red is Barry M’s Rasberry. I made a large dot on each nail and used a hair grip to move the polish into place. I then added the detail using a pale gold nail art pen.

Deck The Halls 4

Now for the Christmas tree! I started by making a rough triangle shape covering most of the nail and then using the edge of the brush I pushed along the edges to make the branches stick out more. Once that dried I added the tinsel and star using the gold nail pen and used a red one to add polka dots for baubles. Really quite simple!

And the finished design!

Thank you for reading and feel free to share your thoughts below! I’d love to know what you think of this Christmas decorations nail art! :)

W7 Multi Dazzle – Beautifully Festive Glitter!

Well, December 1st has arrived! So it’s only appropriate that I start sharing some more festive nail designs and polishes with you all. :) The first one I’ve chosen is a new purchase, W7’s Multi Dazzle polish. I got this a few days ago when I was out shopping for Christmas presents. I found this on a fantastic beauty stall in the Victoria Centre Market. It instantly caught my eye as it’s such a stunning mix of colours and is so perfect for this time of year. And to make it even more perfect, it was only £1.99! A great price I think you’ll agree.

W7 Multi Dazzle 1

It looks incredible in the bottle and was an amazing price so I was very excited to see if this looked as wonderful when on the nails. I first applied two coats of Barry M’s Black Nail Paint before adding the glitter as I wanted to get a more sophisticated glitter look. The Multi Dazzle applied really well. I find some glitters to be too stiff and gloopy but this was just the right consistency to be able to spread the glitter evenly along the nail. As with most glitter polishes this dried very quickly and gave a nice glossy finish that wasn’t too bumpy. Great if you don’t have time to add a top coat!

Here’s how it looked..

This is with just one coat of glitter and as you can see, there is plenty of sparkle!

I just adore the way this looks! It reminds me so much of Christmas as a child and wearing plimsolls to the school disco that my mum had stuck glitter and sequins too. This is definitely what I’ll be wearing on my nails for Christmas Day!

A beautifully simple and festive nail look for any party!

Victoria Centre Christmas Lights Switch-On 2012

I haven’t posted in over a week now but thought I’d do a very quick post today to show off my sparkly nails ready for tonights Christmas lights switch-on at Victoria Centre, Nottingham.

I am very excited!! I absolutely love Christmas and this year Tina O’Brien is going to be switching on the lights. Most definitely a step up from last year when Santa did it. I do adore Santa but that was just a little disappointing! There’s also going to be some Strictly Come Dancing entertainment too. :)

These are my glittery festive nails..

I used Barry M’s Gelly Hi-Shine in Watermelon and Aqua Glitter. My nails look a little bumpy but that has nothing to do with the polish! If you’re a regular reader you’ll know how much I adore Barry M products. There is still a little bit of glue/acrylic left from when I had a full set of acrylic false nails. Most definitely won’t be doing that again!
