I love decals because they’re so quick to use, especially with fast drying polishes and top coats. These gorgeous fruit designs from Born Pretty Store are just wonderful.

I love that these have a fun vintage/rockabilly vibe!

These are definitely the perfect way to jazz up any mani! First I had to try a candy pink with lots of decals.

 

For my second look I wanted to keep it simple but bold. I usually shy away from yellow polish but with a little pineapple decoration I love it!

 

As with all decals I’ve tried from Born Pretty Store these are really fantastic quality, easy to use and perfect for all nail lengths! These are a must have!

Alice In Wonderland

It’s been a long time since I’ve done any real freehand nail art so I thought I would try out a little movie inspired design.

I watched Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland recently so decided to share my two favourite characters.

Born Pretty Store: Bird Stamping Plate

It’s time for more pretty things from Born Pretty Store! This stamping plate is a perfect addition to any nail art collection..

Each design is beautifully detailed and a great way of adding something fun to your manicure!

I’ve been loving pastel colours just recently so I used two to create the base. I then added a cage on one nail and then the bird with flowers print on another.

 

I love that it looks like the bird has flown away from the cage!

For my next look I decided on much brighter shades. Neon flamingos are perfect for making dull days look better!

 

As with every plate I’ve tried, each design transferred really well on to the nails! There are plenty of images perfect no matter the length of your nails too. I also love the variety of single images and full nail designs.

Save The Rhino: #NailIt4Rhinos

Today’s post is something a little special!

UK conservation charity Save the Rhino is launching a really fun campaign for World Rhino Day on 22^nd September! Save the Rhino is encouraging the world to get creative by painting and decorating their nails and sharing their creations across social media using the hashtag #NailIt4Rhinos. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness for rhinos and fundraise for the charity. A very worthwhile cause I’m sure you’ll agree!

I’m sure some of you will be wondering why they chose nail art to raise awareness! The campaign was inspired by a connection that rhinos and humans share – rhino horns are made of keratin which is exactly the same protein material found in human nails!

Rhino poaching is at crisis point with just 29,000 in the wild today, meaning that we have already lost 95% of the world’s rhinos. During 2014, in South Africa alone a staggering 1,215 rhinos were killed by poachers. That’s one every eight hours, if poaching continues at the current rate then we could lose all of the world’s rhinos from the wild in the next 11 years.

By urging the world to share their nail creations on social media and encouraging their friends and family to join the cause, Save the Rhino is hoping to raise awareness of how serious poaching has become. Susie Offord, Deputy Director for Save the Rhino says: ‘Here at Save the Rhino we work to save all five endangered rhino species , so this year we’re asking you to make a stand for rhinos by decorating your nails and showing the world you care by using the #NailIt4Rhinos hashtag! If we can’t save rhinos what hope is there for other species in the world.’

All it takes is five simple steps to get involved with the #NailIt4Rhinos campaign:

Born Pretty Store: Vintage Style Decals

It’s been a while since my last post! I’ve moved house and until now I haven’t been able to get anything written and photographed. But I’m back and today I have some of the best decals ever from Born Pretty Store! This set is a fantastic deal not only because of the gorgeous designs but you also get 3 sheets of decals!!

As you can see you get plenty of images and they are all very detailed. I’m a huge fan of anything vintage so I really love the pinup style decals and the animals are all adorable!

I’ve done three nail art looks using these decals to give you some ideas on various ways to wear them.

My first look is the most simple. Sometimes all you need is a little something to jazz up a plain polish and wearing just one decal on your ring finger is a perfect way to do that.

 

A bold red polish is perfect to show off the vintage decals! I’ve also tried to do retro half moons to add to the glam!

 

For my last look I used decals on each nail. I think the pretty flowers compliments the pastel pink beautifully.

Born Pretty Store: Pretty In Pink!

Decals will always be a favourite way for me to get gorgeous nail art in a rush! I love that they come in every design you could ever want and today I’m sharing another pretty set from Born Pretty Store.

These decals really are lovely. The designs are simple but so beautiful! I love that these are just an outline as it means you can use them with any colour polish.

To me these have a little Disney princess vibe about them so that’s the inspiration behind this nail look..

Perfectly pink! With a little added sparkle of course!

As with every other set of decals from Born Pretty Store they are easy to use and look fantastic. Simply cut out the design and peel off the top film. Hold in water for around 20 seconds, slide the design off the backing and then place on your nail. I use a pair of tweezers to make sure the design goes exactly where I want it.

Marilyn Monroe In Pop Art

It’s been quite a while since my last post and today I have one of my favourite looks I’ve done to share with you! For the nail art in this post I used another fantastic stamping plate from Born Pretty Store.

As you can see there are some gorgeous designs but, of course, the Marilyn Monroe image is the reason I chose to review this stamping plate!

I wanted to keep Marilyn as the focal point of the design but I didn’t think plain colour and an accent nail would be good enough so I decided to have Marilyn on every nail! I chose to go for a pop art look so I picked out some bold polishes to work with.

My stamping skills clearly need a little more work but I just love how this turned out!

I was a little worried that the image wouldn’t fit on my short nails but it transferred really well!

I definitely recommend getting this stamping plate if you want fabulous nail art. If Marilyn can’t make your nails look glam then nothing can!

Halloween Patchwork Nails

Today I’m sharing my second Halloween nail art of the year!

Orange, green and purple are some of my favourite colours for Halloween so I’ve used all three to create a fun patchwork design!

To create this spooky stitched look I used Barry M’s Bright Purple, Matte Waikiki and Satsuma Gelly Paint. I then used Barry M’s black nail art pen to add detail and finished with a glossy top coat.

This is a pretty easy Halloween nail art! And it looks great in other colours too! :)

Little Robot Nail Art

Makeup Revolution polishes are perfect for nail art and until I have another set of swatches to share I thought I would come up with a few designs using my favourite shades!

Here’s a little robot I did recently..

To create this design I used Look Of Love as the base on my ring finger, You Need Love for my other nails and Hopes and Dreams for the robot and dots. I’ve also used Barry M’s black nail art pen to add detail. To finish the look I added Rimmel’s matte topcoat.

Hopes and Dreams really is the best shade for a robot! You can check out my swatches of these and some other polishes Here.

Pretty In Pink

Recently I have really been loving nail art studs and rhinestones and one of the best places to get some at a bargain price is Ebay. I recently got a fantastic set for just £2.57!

It’s full of hundreds of cute pieces including fimo fruit shapes, flowers, bows and pearls!

I decided for my first nail design using this set to go for something simple but cute.

I chose Barry M’s Silk polish in Blossom as the base and White to add the polka dots and tip on my ring finger. I then added a small pearly pink bow.

I really like the sugary pink shade with the bow and polka dot detail. What do you think? :)
