Little Owls ♥

Today I’m sharing a cute owl nail design. :)

Owls 1

I chose to use our teal purple.

I’m actually quite proud of these. I think they look adorable! And they were quite easy to do! I used the side of the polish brush for the wings and a hair grip for everything else. It’s all made up of dots! I love how well the feather detail turned out. All I did was make a dot in the lighter colour then added a dot of the base colour over the top to get the half moon shape. So easy!

What do you think of my owl nails?

Polishes used: Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Watermelon, Plum and Prickly Pear. Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Lemon Sugar and Avon SpeedDry+  in Don’t Be Jaded.

Olympic Games: London 2012

Well, I have finally gotten round to doing an olympic themed nail art. :) It’s taken a while, I know! I wasn’t that fussed about them until they started, I have been watching it a bit though. I was watching it not long ago as Team GB won gold in the show jumping! The equestrian sports are definitely my favourite to watch. :)

So here are my olympic nails…

They’re not the best but this was the first time I’d done this on my own nails. Not too bad for a first attempt I don’t think. I did use my nail art pens to do the union jacks and the LDN 2012, the olympic rings are nail decorations. If you want to try this out but don’t have nail art pens don’t worry, I did this on a set of false nails using a hair grip (as always! ha!) and it looked pretty much as good as these, it just takes practice. I also tried just using the edge of the polish brush, but that didn’t go as well. You need a very steady hand to do it that way!

I used Barry M Cobalt Blue (it’s the brightest blue I own) and Revlon White On White for the base colours. :)
