Nail Geek: Cool Nails Collection

Today I finally have more swatches of Makeup Revolution’s Nail Geek polishes for you!

The Cool Nails collection is made up of 5 beautiful blue tones including pastels and bolder shades making this a perfect collection for every season!

Peppermint is a lovely mint colour just as the name suggests. A must have for Spring/Summer!

 

Dreams is a classic pastel blue. So pretty!

 

Clear Skies is a lilac toned blue. Such a gorgeous colour!

 

Live Fearless is a stunning deep blue. It’s perfectly bold and would look amazing on all skin tones.

 

Inbetween is my favourite of the collection. This is a rich peacock teal and looks so beautiful!

Clubbin’ Pink is a deep coral pink. A great match for most skin tones!

 

Crazy is exactly as the name suggests! Crazy bright and so cute! This is a violet toned pink perfect for summer.

Nail Geek: Beauty Not Beast Collection

Today I have more of Makeup Revolution’s Nail Geek polishes to share with you!

The Beauty Not Beast collection is made up of 5 gorgeous light shades. Each swatch is of three coats of polish, and no top coat.

Eu Natural is a delicate white shade that needs to be layered for a streak free finish. This is a softer alternative to wearing a bright white.

 

Calming is a very light natural pink. Simple and pretty!

 

Ballet Shoes is a creamy pink colour with the most perfect name!

 

Down To Earth is a sheer pink with a lovely gold shimmer. I love a little sparkle!

 

Sleep is my favourite of this collection. This lilac shade is just beautiful!

Nail Geek: Red Not Dead Collection

After some camera problems I finally have more swatches of Makeup Revolution’s Nail Geek polishes for you!

The Red Not Dead collection is made up of 5 beautiful shades. Each swatch is of two coats of polish, except for Intensive which needed three coats for full coverage, and no top coat.

On The Edge is a lovely pink toned red. Simple but beautiful!

Scandal is slightly brighter version of On The Edge. This raspberry red colour is really pretty.

Declare is a classic red with a subtle shimmer running through it. Unfortunately the shimmer does not show up too well in these photos but it really is something special.

Vampy is my favourite from this collection. I just adore this deep wine colour.

Intensive is the most stunning oxblood polish. Perfect if you want something dark and dramatic!

Nail Geek: Paints Collection

At the beginning of the week I shared my thoughts on Makeup Revolution’s newly released Nail Geek collection and today I have the first set of swatches for you!

The Paints collection is made up of 5 bold shades that would be perfect for summer or anyone that loves colourful fingertips. Each swatch is of two coats of polish, except for Holiday, and no top coat.

Holiday is a classic sunshine yellow. I found that three thin coats was best as it can be a little streaky, but that’s the case with every yellow polish I own!

Flare is an almost neon orange. Very bright but so beautiful!

Into The Night has a tinted formula that on the first coat looks like it will need a lot of layering but just two layers is enough for perfect coverage. This deep blue is my favourite of the collection.

Summer Lovin’ also has a tinted formula but unfortunately this one does stain a little so a good quality base coat is needed! This pink is gorgeous though and very glossy.

Refresher is a delightful apple green shade with a subtle gold and violet shimmer. Very pretty!

I ❤ Makeup: Nail Geek

Makeup Revolution have fast become one of the most talked about beauty brands with their incredible products and amazing prices. And their sister brand, I ❤ Makeup, is just as popular!

If you are a regular reader then you will know what a fan I am of their nail polish so when I was contacted recently about trying out their newly released Nail Geek collection I was so excited!

There are 45 fabulous new shades that you can buy individually for £1.99 or in collections of 5 for just £7.95!

As you can see the bottles are different to the original Makeup Revolution polishes. For me, the new square shape looks a lot better! The brush has also been updated and is now flat and wide which makes painting your nails much easier and quicker.

Makeup Revolution has really impressed me with this new collection! After trying out a few of the polishes it seems the new formula is really wonderful. The polish goes on smoothly and dries quickly to a glossy finish. From the polishes I have tried out the darker colours need only 1 or 2 coats for opaque and streak free colour but the lighter shades do need to be layered. I will, of course, let you know if this is not the case as I post swatches.

There are so many gorgeous new shades and I can’t wait to share them all with you. Check back soon as I will be posting swatches of the full Nail Geek polish collection!

Gradient Nails For A/W!

Gradient art is one of the simplest ways to jazz up your nails and today I have a pretty purple version to show you using Makeup Revolution polishes!

Purple is my favourite colour so I’ve gone for three shades.

I used Lilac Love, Adore and Gravity Pulls You Thru. I added Rimmel’s matte topcoat to finish.

I think these colours look wonderful together and so perfect for A/W! What do you think?

Makeup Revolution: Nail Polish Swatches Part 9

It’s been a while but I have more Makeup Revolution swatches for you today! I’ve used two coats for these which gave good coverage. As always, I’ve included a photo in natural light and a photo taken indoors with flash on.

Be Lucky In Love is a pretty pink-toned red.

Find True Love is the most perfect classic red. A stunning match for a bold red lip!

Midnight Connection is a deep navy very appropriate for the cooler weather. This formula is a little different to the rest as it is a sheer tinted polish but it does build up beautifully.

Eyes Like Angels is a really wonderful glitter. It’s full of green, gold and blue flecks in a cloudy base and the name is so pretty! I’ve used this over Maybe Tonight.

Little Robot Nail Art

Makeup Revolution polishes are perfect for nail art and until I have another set of swatches to share I thought I would come up with a few designs using my favourite shades!

Here’s a little robot I did recently..

To create this design I used Look Of Love as the base on my ring finger, You Need Love for my other nails and Hopes and Dreams for the robot and dots. I’ve also used Barry M’s black nail art pen to add detail. To finish the look I added Rimmel’s matte topcoat.

Hopes and Dreams really is the best shade for a robot! You can check out my swatches of these and some other polishes Here.

Makeup Revolution: Nail Polish Swatches Part 8

I have more Makeup Revolution swatches for you today! As with my last set of swatches, these are mostly light shades so for best results I’ve used three thin coats.

Still Missing My Baby is a nice ivory polish. In some lights this has a slight lemon tone and in others it looks like a delicate antique cream. I’m not usually a fan of white polishes on their own, I prefer to use them just for nail art, but this is one I would make an exception for.

Luxury Cream is a crisp white shade. As I’ve said, I really only wear white polish if I’m doing nail art over it, so this isn’t something you will see alone on my nails again. However, this is a perfect base for a little fancy art or to be used for detail in any design.

Promises is a lovely shade of grey. It’s a nice neutral tone so is perfect for everyday/work wear!

Hopes and Dreams is a light metallic grey/silver. This has a slightly thicker formula than the other polishes from Makeup Revolution and dries to a semi-matte finish.

Maybe Tonight is a dark grey with a small amount of gold shimmer. This is such a spectacular colour! Definitely a favourite of mine.
