Born Pretty Store: Autumn Stamping Plate

Today I have another stamping plate from Born Pretty Store to share with you! This one is full of incredible designs!

I just love this! Every image is really detailed and coming up with nail designs to show off this plate was so fun!

This look was the first design I tried and I am definitely impressed with how well it turned out! I used a white base colour then sponged on pastel shades to create a little more depth behind the print. I know this would look great in lots of other colours too!

 

My next look is super easy but I really like the simplicity of the little dragonflies!

 

As with every plate I’ve tried from Born Pretty Store, this plate is fantastic quality and all the designs transfer beautifully onto the nails! Definitely a must for any nail art fan.

A Guide To Stamping Nail Art

You may have seen my recent reviews of stamping plates from Born Pretty Store and I thought I would share a little guide on how to stamp! It took me plenty of practice to finally get the best way to do it so I hope this can help any of you that are unsure of stamping nail art.

Step 1. Choose your stamping plate and set up where you want to work. I like to put paper down to catch any extra polish and make cleaning up a bit easier. Make sure you have your polish and Stamper close by before starting too.

Step 2. Brush chosen polish over the design. You don’t need too much polish, just enough so the whole design is covered.

Step 3. Scrape over image at a 45 degree angle. If there’s too much polish you may need to do this more than once. I usually turn the scraper over and go over it again.

Step 4. Press Stamper onto design. Be careful not to smudge the design as you do this.

Step 5. Clean up any excess polish from around the image. I use a little remover on a cotton pad to do this. A cotton bud may work better if the design is more detailed.

Step 6. Gently roll stamp over your nail. Seal your finished art with a top coat!

Once you get the hang of it stamping is really great! There are so many fantastic stamping plates around that are sure to give you gorgeous nail art!

Born Pretty Store: Festival Nail Art

I have another fantastic stamping plate from Born Pretty Store to share with you today!

This stamping plate has a love theme to it along with some other pretty designs. I actually picked this plate because of the chevrons. I think they look so chic but I’ve never been able to do them freehand!

Here’s the look I came up with..

I chose three bright polishes for this gradient design which I think looks really nice against the white base. This would be a really fun nail art for summer and especially if you’re going to any festivals! I also quite like how the design came out slightly faded as it just adds to the festival vibe.

I think this stamping plate is really great as it has a lovely little selection of images. The stripes and chevrons make this a must-have if you want stylish nail art that doesn’t take forever to do.

Marilyn Monroe In Pop Art

It’s been quite a while since my last post and today I have one of my favourite looks I’ve done to share with you! For the nail art in this post I used another fantastic stamping plate from Born Pretty Store.

As you can see there are some gorgeous designs but, of course, the Marilyn Monroe image is the reason I chose to review this stamping plate!

I wanted to keep Marilyn as the focal point of the design but I didn’t think plain colour and an accent nail would be good enough so I decided to have Marilyn on every nail! I chose to go for a pop art look so I picked out some bold polishes to work with.

My stamping skills clearly need a little more work but I just love how this turned out!

I was a little worried that the image wouldn’t fit on my short nails but it transferred really well!

I definitely recommend getting this stamping plate if you want fabulous nail art. If Marilyn can’t make your nails look glam then nothing can!

Born Pretty Store: Stamper & Scraper Set

Born Pretty Store very kindly sent me a few products to review and today I have the first one to share with you. I’ve not tried stamping nail art before so getting a stamping set and plates (which I will be sharing with you very soon!) was really great!

This stamper set comes in a vibrant pink colour and is the perfect size to transfer designs on to your nails easily. I think this is the perfect set for any stamping beginner! It’s simple to use, easy to clean and transfers the polish beautifully onto the nail.

As you can see, the scraper comes apart so you can clean it fully which is very useful! I used a cotton pad and nail polish remover to clean any excess polish which worked really well.

Unfortunately this set didn’t come with any instructions so I had to practice quite a bit to get the hang of transferring the designs neatly! I found it best to use the scraper at a about a 45 degree angle and to roll the Stamper gently over the image. Sometimes I have to clean up around the design on the Stamper before putting it on my nail but I’m sure I will get better at it the more I use it.

Overall, this is a great little set and one I definitely recommend!
